UNITED KINGDOM DOMAIN TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please refer to our domain name registration terms and conditions below. These are standard DNC conditions that apply to all customers who register a domain name via our system, or transfer a new domain to our system.

Buying a UK domain name (e.g., .uk, .co.uk) requires adhering to nominet which mandate accurate registrant information, no unlawful usage, and non-infringement of intellectual property. Registration is generally non-refundable once processed, often with 1–10 year terms. .gov.uk domains require specific, restricted eligibility.

Key Terms and Conditions for UK Domain Registration: Contract and Ownership: By registering a .uk domain, you enter a contract with Nominet UK, the registry, in addition to your registrar's terms.

  • Accuracy of Information: You must provide, maintain, and update accurate contact details (Name, Address, Email). Providing false data can lead to suspension.
  • Prohibited Use: Domains cannot be used for illegal purposes, spam, or to infringe on third-party intellectual property rights (e.g., trademarks).
  • Non-Refundable: Domain names are considered bespoke services, meaning they are generally non-refundable, even if cancelled or suspended immediately.
  • Renewal: It is the registrant's responsibility to renew. Some registrars require renewal up to 60 days before expiry.
  • Data Usage: Your personal information may be published on the Nominet WHOIS database, though individual registrants can opt-out (unlike businesses).
  • Dispute Resolution: Disputes regarding domain ownership are handled through Nominet’s Dispute Resolution Service (DRS).

For specialized domains like .gov.uk, applicants must be approved UK public sector bodies, adhere to strict cybersecurity, and avoid using the domain for commercial advertising.
